I’m shipping my first Mac app today

I'm shipping my first Mac app today. I want MacTC to become the greatest Mac fan-control app in the world. But this is just a tribute. This first release is read-only. The polished monitoring UI works now, it’s free, and I intend to keep it that way. Paid, optional fan control will come in a later update (soon™).

Why release the monitor first? I built MacTC because I couldn’t find another Mac tool that clearly put real-time CPU and GPU clocks, temperatures, power, and fan behavior in one place.

The macOS 27 Golden Gate betas in particular have really cracked down on our GPU & CPU clocks under hot conditions. This means everything gets much slower.

Keeping MacTC running in the background means you'll always have a five-minute retrospective view of your Mac's performance and behind-the-scenes activity.

If you’d like to help accelerate development, open the Capture tab and run the optional Hardware Survey. It sends bounded technical details about your Mac’s fan and sensor layout, helping me validate fan control across more Apple Silicon configurations. MacTC requires macOS Sonoma 14 or later.

Download today. If you like it, share with your friends. And when I'm ready to push the actual paid fan control update, you'll see how much more performance your Mac has in store, if you're willing to trade more adaptive fan noise for going faster.
